In true Christmas spirit, we are delighted to announce that the gaming and entertainment organisation, Activision Blizzard, has been generous enough to fund a whole range of Christmas hampers, each personally tailored for and delivered to our beneficiaries with a disability.
Who is Activision Blizzard?
Activision Blizzard develops and distributes content and services across several gaming platforms, creating interactive gaming and entertainment experiences all over the world. Gaming platforms include video game consoles, personal computers (PCs) and mobile devices while some of their highly successful franchises include Call of Duty, Candy Crush, World of Warcraft and more.
Activision Blizzard’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives are often centred around supporting the veteran community (visit: https://www.activisionblizzard.com/social-impact for more information), and this year they have selected Legacy to be dedicated to their annual veterans’ day of service.
What does this initiative look like for our beneficiaries?
A total of 47 Melbourne Legacy beneficiaries were contacted to create their very own specialised order to be sent to Activision Blizzard. From there, the organisation’s employees specifically tailored every hamper according to the personal interests of each beneficiary, providing them with everything they wanted, and more!
Some examples of the gifts included in the Christmas hampers include AFL merchandise, a polaroid camera with film, jewellery, gourmet chocolate, high-quality arts and craft materials, and magazine subscriptions to cover a whole year.
The most noteworthy aspect of this generous initiative by Activision Blizzard is their unwavering enthusiasm towards the program, whereby no gift has been deemed too difficult nor too expensive.
As you can tell by the images below, our beneficiaries have thoroughly enjoyed receiving their Christmas hampers.
Why is this program particularly special for our beneficiaries with a disability?
While it is indisputable that we have all faced numerous challenges that 2020 has thrown at us, it is worth highlighting just how isolating this time would have been for our beneficiaries living within disability care facilities. They ended up missing out on a lot this year since Legacy’s programs and events generally form a big part of their lives. As soon as Activision Blizzard approached us, we knew that this would be perfect for our beneficiaries with a disability.
