In 2021 the Victorian Government, alongside Melbourne Legacy, established the Victorian Veteran Family Services (VVFS) to help the family members and support persons of veterans during the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide. Although the VVFS project has finished, Melbourne Legacy is still here to help through our Community Services Victoria (CSV) team.

What is CSV?

Melbourne Legacy’s long-term case management support services are delivered through the CSV team of professionals and applied through a psychosocial model of assessment.

All support provided is personalised and tailored to the individual needs of each family, and is centered around financial support for essential items such as education, advocacy support to access DVA entitlements and community connection through Youth Camps and Family Days.

Who is eligible?

Our mission is to ensure that Victorian families of veterans are fully supported. Eligibility can be determined through the presentation of a DVA gold card, a MyService summary of accepted conditions or a medical discharge certificate.

What support can I receive?

CSV supports families of veterans with community outreach and engagement, counselling and wellbeing management delivered by our professional Case Managers who understand the importance of connection and community, especially in challenging times like this.

CSV provides the following:
